Kelly A. Gomes is the owner and founder of InterpretFrench, and serves as the group's lead linguist.

Kelly works with a small team of associates, all of whom are certified by the American Translators Association or hold a Masters degree in Translation/Interpretation. All associates have passed rigorous pre-screening and are native speakers of the language into which they translate.

What unites the InterpretFrench team is a passion for translation and interpretation. The group’s unique collaborative approach means that several linguists contribute to each and every project, no matter the size – a level of commitment that is hard to beat!

About Kelly

Kelly received her Masters in Translation and Interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.

Before starting InterpretFrench, Kelly gained essential experience translating and interpreting with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris.

A member of the American Translators Association, Kelly currently serves as President of its National Capital Area Chapter.

Kelly has traveled on assignment to Africa, Europe, and over 20 states in the US, often working with the United States Department of State.

A native of upstate New York, Kelly acquired her French-language skills from both formal training (she received her B.A. in French from Boston College) and years of diversified experience in France. In addition to completing university coursework at the Faculté de Lettres in Nantes, she also spent time working on the sales team of the French oil company Dyneff. French plays a central role in her personal life as well, as her husband is from the northwest region of France.
